The Braddock Wrestling School, located just off the
outskirts of London, England, has been the training ground for almost all of
Glory Braddock’s biggest, most noteworthy matches of her professional wrestling
career. The preparation for all fourteen of her previous world
championship victories came at this facility. It doesn’t look as big and
luxurious as one might think, considering its founder, the grizzled and
oftentimes angry Glenn Braddock, is a legend in England and all throughout
Europe, but Glenn was never one to care about the glitz and the glamor nor for
the spotlight. He never gave a damn if people loved and adored him and
gave him all the attention that so many other wrestlers nowadays seem to crave.
His only love was wrestling.
So the moment Glory Braddock revealed that she was
going to utilize her Trios contract to insert herself into the main event of
Rise To Greatness, facing Syren as well as Taking Hold of the Flame winner
Alistaire Allocco for the SCW World Championship, she knew where she would want
to spend most of her time and preparation for this match, one of the biggest
matches of her career, and definitely the biggest match of her young tenure in
SCW thus far…
...she wants to go home.
And this dirty, sweaty, smelly excuse of a gym is
her professional wrestling home. This is the place where she learned the
craft and honed her skills. The familiar
sights, sounds, and odors pervade the air the moment The British Bombshell
opens the door to enter the main training area. A smile creeps across her
face as she takes it all in. This is
home.
Braddock is dressed in purple workout shorts, white
shoes, and a white t-shirt. Her long blonde hair is pulled into a
ponytail in the back. The Best in the
World isn’t quite used to seeing the gym like this; it is busy, with students,
future wrestlers and even current wrestlers in their own right, all busy with
their own individual training regimen. In the past when she would train
for big matches, her father would shut down the gym so he could have his
daughter all to himself and not be distracted by the other students. It always made Glory feel guilty, because
those students were just as important as she was and yet here she was being
given preferential treatment just because her father owned the place.
Thus when she took over she ended that
practice. Randall Williams, her ex-boyfriend and the man she hired to run
the school, insisted that he wouldn’t mind nor would the students mind if the
school were shut down for a day so she could train but she refused his
offer. She does not want to be treated any differently than them just
because of who she is.
Braddock slowly walks across the floor of the gym
area, approaching her ex, Randall Williams, who is busy working with Olivia
Nelson. The trainee doesn’t see her coming but Randall does…
“Wait here just a moment, Olivia…”
Randall walks over and meets Glory about halfway. A warm, friendly smile
spreads across his face.
“Nice to see you, Glory.”
“Thank you, Randall.”
Braddock scans the school, taking in the sights and sounds of the other
students and wrestlers training and working out. She can’t help but
notice that some of them are clearly distracted. How could they not be? Glory Braddock is the current owner of this
place and she just walked in. The daughter of the legendary Glenn Braddock
has entered the building. The British
Bombshell sighs and turns to face Randall.
“I just hope I’m not going to be too much of a
distraction to the students.” She
remarks. “I mean, I could find somewhere else to prepare, but this place
just feels like home. You know?”
“No need to say anything.”
Randall says. “This is your school. Besides, I could have easily have
shut down today if you wanted me to.”
“Absolutely not.” Glory
shakes her head. “I don’t want any special treatment.”
“Understood.”
Randall nods his head.
“So, where is my dad?”
Randall motions to the far side of the gym area, an
area that is completely empty with the exception of one single individual and
that is Glenn himself, standing with his back turned towards the pair.
“He’s over there, waiting for you. I had the
students stay away from that area because I knew you two would need at least
some sort of privacy.”
“Thanks, Randall.” Glory
nods her head, gives him a brief hug, and then begins to walk away from him,
making her way across the gym area, past other students and the other
wrestlers, towards her father.
This is a ritual that has been a part of Braddock’s
life even before she was old enough to begin training. Glenn started his
young daughter at age fifteen, before most would even think of getting
started. But she started early.
And the pressure of knowing that she was training to take up his mantle was
intense for The British Bombshell.
Yet as intense as the pressure was, she cannot deny
the results. When she made her professional wrestling debut at age twenty
four, the skills and knowledge she learned from her father allowed her to
quickly rise to the top. Sure, there have been differences of opinion
between her and her father in the past but she cannot deny the results that he
gets.
Now that she is preparing to go up against some of
the best wrestlers SCW has to offer in the form of Dark Fantasy and Infamous,
she wants the best wrestling mind that she knows to help her get into shape.
“Hi, dad!”
Braddock says sweetly as she waves at her father. Glenn turns around upon
hearing the sound of his daughter’s voice. A low growl escapes his lips.
“Harumph, you’re late.”
“Nice to see you too, dad.”
Glory rolls her eyes.
“Look, if you wanted to do a social call we
could’ve done this in Miami with my grandchildren. But I was under the
impression that you wanted me to come out of my retirement as a trainer to work
with you.”
Braddock can tell that her father is slightly
annoyed. That’s nothing new. He’s
always been all business whenever wrestling was concerned. That’s part of
what made it difficult for Glory to work with him. And yet there is none better, so she can put
up with his bad attitude for the benefit of getting a good workout in.
“Right, and I do appreciate you doing this for me,
dad. I know you wanted to stop with wrestling altogether.”
“Hey, don’t mention it. Anytime you want to
work, just let me know. To be honest,” he
looks around at the gym and for the first time since Glory can remember, a
smile slides across her father’s face “I kind of missed this place.”
“You can always get back involved, you know?”
Glory responds. “Randall could use more trainers and there is none better
than you.”
“Forget it.” Glenn
quickly snaps back. “Now lets get down to business. Who is the bloody
piece of garbage you’re facing?”
“Christy Matthews.”
The British Bombshell expected this to come sooner
rather than later. She has declared war on Syren and all of her cronies,
and that includes Christy Matthews. For Glory this match on Breakdown
will be an opportunity to send a clear and decisive message straight to Syren;
by choking out one of her allies.
“What the fuck is a Christy Matthews?!”
Glenn exclaims.
“One of Syren’s allies.”
“What the fuck is a Syren?”
“You have to be kidding me, dad.”
Glory rolls her eyes. “You do remember that Trios contract I won in Supreme
Championship Wrestling?”
“Yes.”
“I’m using it against Syren, the World Champion,
and Alistaire Allocco, for the world title in the main event of Rise To
Greatness.”
“What the fuck is Rise…”
“Hush!” Glory
points at Glenn, at first with an angry glare and then a smirk. “I know
you’re joking now, dad. So drop the act.”
A few moments pass as Glory stares down her
father. Then a slight grin forms on his face. “Guilty.
What? I can’t joke every now and then?”
“When it’s you, no.”
Glory shakes her head. “There are times when I suspect you were born without
a sense of humor. Now like you said, can we get down to the business at
hand?”
“Right.” Glenn
nods his head. “I did my research, or rather Sophie did her research and
told me everything I needed to know. If part of your goal is to make sure
Syren loses the world championship then what you’ve done is perfect.
Syren’s chances of winning went from fifty percent to only one third. Hell, she could lose the title without being
beaten. But if you want to become world champion you’ll need to be better
than you’ve ever been before. These
clowns will do anything to gain advantage and to win. Fighting Christy at
Breakdown is good for you because you’ll get to prepare for the kind of crap
their ilk will throw your way.”
The legendary British wrestler points to a nearby
heavy bag. “I want to start small with a warm up. Strike the bag,
punching and kicking. Picture that
brasser Christy. Punch her fucking lights out. After that we’re going to work on your
endurance. I’m going to have you run until you collapse! Until you can’t run any fucking longer!”
“Oh is that all?” Glory
remarks with a sarcastic grin.
“No, it isn’t.” He
shakes his head. “Then we’re getting you into that ring,” he motions to a
wrestling ring set up in the center of the training area where other students
and trainees are working “and I’m going to have you spar every single human
fucking being in this building in the gauntlet from hell.”
“Never change, dad.” Glory
says with a light laugh as she approaches the heavy bag. Glory begins to
lay into the heavy bag with sharp rights and lefts at first. A few
moments in she begins to add some martial arts kicks as well. Glenn Braddock steps in front of the heavy
bag and glares a hole right through his daughter.
“This is no joke, Gloria.”
When Glenn uses his daughter’s given name of Gloria instead of the shortened
form Glory, she knows he is being very serious. “This isn’t like your series
of three matches against Andreas Lasiewicz. That damned Polish clown
plays by the rules. This isn’t like your
feud with Isis Derrida. He had no friends and no allies to help him worm
his way into retaining the title.”
“I know, dad…”
Glory’s voice trails off as she continues to thrust her feet and hands onto the
heavy bag with even more intensity.
“You call yourself The Best in the World?
Well to win on Breakdown and to win at Rise To Greatness you will have to be
BETTER than the best!”
“Yeah, I know…” the
intensity of Glory’s strikes grow even as her frustration grows.
“You’d better know.”
Glenn growls. “Because this is your Trios contract you’re using, and if you
lose…”
“I WON’T LOSE!” Glory
lets out with a shout and a roundhouse kick to the bag, knocking the bag
backwards and onto her father, nearly causing him to topple over. The
grizzled veteran manages to stay on his feet though. The outburst does catch the attention of some
of the others at the school. Glory
blushes in embarrassment as she approaches her father and shakes her head.
“Sorry about that, dad.”
“No, don’t apologize.”
Glenn remarks quietly. “That’s the kind of intensity you will need when
facing Matthews. Just do me a favor and focus that energy upon her at
Breakdown.”
“Will do.” Glory
sighs deeply. “I’ve been distracted a little lately and not just because of
what I’m trying to do at Rise To Greatness.”
“What is it?”
“You really don’t want to know.”
Braddock remarks with a shake of her head.
“I’m still your father, Gloria. Besides, if
this is going to impact your training or distract you from the task at hand,
then as your trainer I want to help you eliminate it.”
“You can’t eliminate this distraction.”
Glory says, staring a hole through her father.
“Try me.”
The British Bombshell considers her options.
Her father is quite a stubborn individual and used to getting his way.
It’s probably best to fill him in on the recent string of personal problems
between her and Melinda. Besides, he doesn’t always get to see his
granddaughter Melinda as much as he used to considering how Glory has been
traveling a lot lately with SCW. It’s doubtful he knows as much about her
misbehavior.
Glory approaches the heavy bag and waits for her
father to get in position on the other side of it. Glory begins to once
again throw rights and lefts, peppering the bag with quick strikes, and
occasionally adding a kick or two as well.
“It’s Melinda.”
“What’s wrong with her?”
“She’s been bloody rebellious lately.”
Glory says between the jabs and kicks. “We caught her first with petty theft
from a hotel’s vending machine but they didn’t press charges, thankfully.
Then we caught her stealing money from the vault here at the school.”
“What?!” Glenn
exclaims. “My granddaughter was doing that bloody shit?!”
“Yes. And that’s not all. I caught her
sneaking out of the house late at night and sneaking back in through the
window.”
“Where the hell was she?” Glenn
asks curiously.
“At first we didn’t know. But then Sophie and
I came back to the school late at night to check on things and we caught her
half bloody naked with Clyde Sutter.”
“Sutter?!” Glenn
exclaims loudly. This again causes some distraction, drawing attention
from the other students. Glenn sighs and pauses to give the students time
to return to their own business before returning his attention to Glory. “The
kid who was training at this school?”
“The one and only.”
Glory remarks with an angry tone as she recalls the incident. “Apparently
Melinda had been sneaking out at night and seeing him. He was the one who
convinced her to start stealing money from the school. And he isn’t just
a delinquent, he’s a sociopath. He beat
the hell out of some other students here at the school.”
Glory stops working with the heavy bag. “Sophie
realized how dangerous he was and warned me about him before any of this crap
happened. But I refused to listen.
I thought he was just being intense.
You know? Intensity can be good
for this business so I let it go. I didn’t figure it out until he had
beat the hell out of Mark.”
The British Bombshell relives the guilt of letting
Clyde Sutter run rampant when she knows she could have stopped him
earlier. It was her poor judgment that allowed all of this to
happen. She also realizes that if she
had heeded the warnings of Sophie, then maybe Clyde and Melinda never would
have happened.
“No one ever said being a parent would be easy.”
Glenn remarks quietly as she approaches his daughter. “You know, you weren’t
all that different from Melinda when you were a teenager.”
“I don’t think you need to bring this up.” Glory
remarks with a low growl, knowing exactly what Glenn is referring to.
“Oh I think we do.”
Glenn nods his head. “You weren’t any more innocent than your
daughter. You got pregnant with Melinda at age sixteen, only a year after
you began your training. You had to delay your training because of it.”
“Yeah, and instead of being a mother to my child
you made me go right back into training as soon as I conceivably and
realistically could.” Glory remarks with a note of angst.
“It was for the best, but that wasn’t all.
Then you turned to alcohol.”
“The alcohol helped me get through the pressure I
felt of being your daughter and of being a mother.”
“It doesn’t excuse your actions. Just like
there’s no excuse for Melinda’s actions. I just want you to try to
understand her.” Glenn pauses momentarily. “Speaking
of, what did spark all of this? Is it really that kid Sutter?”
“No, at least I don’t think so.”
Glory shakes her head. “It started back in February when she informed me
that she wanted to become a wrestler, that she wanted to follow in my
footsteps. I told her no…”
“Bloody hell!” Glenn
exclaims. “What’s wrong with your daughter wanting to follow in your
footsteps? It’s just like you wanted to follow in my footsteps!”
“Bullshit!”
Something her father said caused The British Bombshell to snap. She walks
over to her father and gets up in his face. “I never wanted to follow in
your footsteps! Don’t get me wrong, I was proud of you. I was proud to be the daughter of the best
wrestler in all of Europe. But I never wanted to follow in your footsteps
and take up your mantle. That was YOUR
dream. You wanted me to carry on your
legacy. So do you really want to know what’s wrong with her becoming a
wrestler?”
She points a finger at her father. “It’s you.
You started this vicious cycle but I’m ending it with Melinda. I’m not
going to force this life on her the way you forced it on me!”
Braddock turns and storms away; tears form in her
eyes and she hopes no one can see. She doesn’t even bother to listen for
her father’s response. She doesn’t care
how he responds. This was something she’s been wanting to say to him for
a very long time.
Yet, it doesn’t feel any better now that she has
said it.

Yesterday was an eventful day for The British
Bombshell. What started as a day of training turned into Glory Braddock
shouting down her own father. Upon leaving the wrestling school her
father founded she arranged time to train with her husband, Kurt Logan, who had
made the trip with her. So despite the problems yesterday brought, she
did at least get some minimal training in.
Still, the memory of yesterday’s outburst weighs
heavily on her mind. Another individual that weighs heavily on the mind
of The British Bombshell is the subject of conversation that brought about
yesterday’s outburst.
Melinda Braddock.
Thus Glory Braddock is in the passenger’s seat of a
car being driven by her best friend and one of her closest confidants Sophie
O’Brian. Their destination isn’t The Braddock Wrestling School. Today they are on their way to another place,
one long since shut down, one long gone but apparently not completely
forgotten.
“I still think this is a bad idea.”
Sophie states stoically.
“Noted.”
“Far be it for me to tell you how to raise your
daughter…”
“Yet I get the feeling you are about to.” Glory
states.
“...BUT don’t you think you should give it up and
let her train?” Sophie asks. “It isn’t as if you
are training her, which was the whole problem wasn’t it? You didn’t want
to train her. Well you’re not, Matthew
is.”
The Matthew in question is Matthew Taylor, whose
ring name was “The Show Stealer” Matthew Bowden. Matthew was another one
of Glenn Braddock’s students. He began
training around the same time Glory did and they became fast friends. The
problem came when Matthew’s personality clashed with Glenn Braddock’s. Matthew didn’t take the sport as seriously as
Glenn believed his students should. For Matthew being a wrestler was
about the thrill he felt inside the ring and being an entertainer for the fans. Glenn felt Matthew was disrespecting the
sport and thus kicked him out of the school.
If you think that deterred Matthew then you’re
wrong. Matthew found another place and another individual to train him,
someone with a similar wrestling philosophy as him. Glory never knew
where it is he landed but she is certain that if Matthew is indeed secretly
training Melinda then that is where he is taking her. It’s a place he
knows and is comfortable with.
“Sophie, this is my daughter and I specifically
told her I did not want her to become a wrestler. She clearly disobeyed me, among many other
things she’s been doing behind my back lately, and it’s time I put a stop to
this once and for all.”
“Do you even have a bloody game plan? Do you
know what you want to do when we get there?” Sophie
asks.
“I’ll figure something out.”
Glory answers with a sigh. “Look, I don’t expect you to come in with me, and
if I knew where this place was I would have went by myself. But you know
where it is. I don’t. So…” Braddock pauses momentarily
“...thanks.”
“Don’t mention it, mate.”
Sophie smirks. “And no, I’m not coming in with you.”
“Didn’t think you would.”
Glory chuckles.
The remaining ride is silent. Sophie knows
that her good friend must have a great deal on her mind, so she lets her have
her peace and quiet. It is needed.
Glory Braddock truthfully has no idea what she will do when she finds
Matthew and Melinda there training. She’s almost ready to explode as it
is. But will she?
Eventually the car pulls up to a run down
building. It appears even more run down than the Braddock Wrestling
School but Glenn liked it that way for the gritty appearance. This is far
worse and it is not intentional. It is
because it was left abandoned and unattended to. Time has caught up with this place and nature
has done its damage. Still, despite this look, it has the appearance of a
place that easily could be used as a training ground for the next generation.
Someone like Matthew could call this place home but
Glory’s daughter Melinda? No.
“Good luck.” Sophie
says. “I’ll wait here for you.”
“Thanks.” Glory
exits the vehicle and storms over towards the entrance. The door is
already left slightly ajar as it is so it isn’t that difficult for Glory to
practically kick the door in and storm inside, guns blazing, figuratively
speaking, with a look that could kill etched across her lovely features.
“Matthew!” Glory
shouts angrily. “Where the bloody hell are you?!”
The British Bombshell scans the room. Over in
a far corner she spots him...and he isn’t alone. She feared that this
would be the case but was hoping she would be wrong. Yet her fears are
realized as she sees Matthew working with Glory’s daughter Melinda on some
wrestling moves on a blue mat.
“Ok, let’s do it again.”
He says. Melinda nods her head and immediately ties up with
Matthew. He sweeps her leg and goes for a grapevine but Melinda catches
him in a small package. Matthew quickly breaks free and pops back up to
his feet. The man formerly known as The
Show Stealer smirks and applauds as Melinda pulls herself up.
“Very good counter, Mel.”
He praises her. “But be careful, you can’t trust your opponent. You go
in for a tie up, they’ll take advantage of you if you’re not careful just as I
did with that leg sweep.”
“Thanks, Mr. Taylor.”
“Please, call me Matt or Matthew.”
He answers. “Only my stuck up sister insists on such formalities.”
“MATTHEW!” Glory
shouts, now boiling over with anger. Matthew and Melinda both turn their
attention to Glory. Melinda sighs with frustration but Matthew just chuckles.
“Speaking of stuck up.”
He waves jokingly. “Hi, Glory!”
Matthew Taylor thinks of himself as quite the
comedian and normally The British Bombshell finds him funny. Not
today. Glory storms over to where her
daughter and Matthew are standing. If it
were possible you could probably see flames coming out of her head at this very
moment. She walks up to Matthew and slaps him across the face.
“Wow, that stung…” He
says with a smirk on his face.
“There’s more to come, mate.”
Glory remarks with venom dripping from her voice. Then she turns to face
her daughter. “As for you, I thought I told you that you would not
train? I thought I told you that you would not become a wrestler?!”
“You did.” Melinda
narrows her brow. “I just didn’t listen.”
“That’s obvious. I’m beginning to wonder who
really is the bad influence on you, Clyde or this bloke?”
Glory asks, motioning to Matthew.
“Clyde is my boyfriend!”
“And he’s a bloody pile of garbage!”
Glory exclaims.
“Mom! You’re being unfair!”
“Maybe I am, but I don’t care.”
She points to the door. “Get to the car. I want to talk to Matthew
privately.”
“I hate you!” With
that, Melinda spins around and storms away. Glory watches her daughter
stomp angrily out of the door. Once Melinda is out of sight, Glory turns
back to face Matthew Taylor. Matthew, for his part, seems unphased by
this turn of events. He still has that
smirk on his face.
“Now you…”
“Me.”
Matthew says grinning. Glory just rolls her eyes.
“I’ve had close friends betray me before.
Sophie has betrayed me many times but you, you were different because you never
betrayed me. At least until now.”
“There is a first time for everything!”
Matthew jokes. Glory, however, is not in a joking mood.
“You knew damn well that I didn’t want her
training. You knew damn well that I didn’t want her to be a
wrestler. And yet you decided to train her anyway. How long has this been going on?”
“Oh since about February.”
“The hell?!”
Glory’s eyes grow wide. “So she immediately disobeyed me?!”
“Pretty much.”
Matthew nods his head. “But let me tell you, that girl is a natural.
She catches on quickly and I’d say that she’s almost ready to turn pro if a
certain someone would let her.”
“Like hell that’s going to happen!”
Glory exclaims.
“Not like you can stop her for much longer.
You know?”
“What’s that supposed to mean, Matt?”
“Oh don’t play dumb.”
He remarks. “You have to know that it’s coming sooner rather than
later. Your daughter is eighteen.
She’s of legal age now. If she
wants to turn pro then she can and there is nothing you can to stop her.
It’s just a matter of time before she figures that out.”
“Are you going to plant that seed in her head
then?!” She exclaims. “Because if she does turn pro
then I will blame you and so help me God I will choke you out.”
“Back off, Glory.” He
remarks. “I don’t plan on putting any thoughts in her head. I want her
to make up her own mind. But while we’re
on the subject, may I ask you a question?”
Glory folds her arms over her chest. “What?!”
“Melinda was clearly upset that you didn’t want to
train her. I mean, she’s appreciative of what I’m doing for her, but she
really wanted her mother to train her. So tell me, why didn’t you want to
train her?”
“Seriously?” Glory
looks Matthew with disbelief and skepticism. “Are you joking with me right
now because if you are…”
“No. It’s a serious question. Why
didn’t you want to train your daughter?”
“You know damn well why.”
Glory growls. “My father forced this life of wrestling upon me. He was
obsessed with it.”
“Still is.”
Matthew says with a smirk.
“Shut up, I’m talking.”
Glory snaps at him. “My father was obsessed with making me his heir, making
me carry his mantle. I was damn sure not going to let this continue for
another generation. I would not let this
life be forced upon my daughter.”
The Show Stealer chuckles. “It’s funny you say
that, it really is…”
“What’s funny about it?!”
“Have you even been listening to yourself?
You are obsessed with stopping her from doing something that she can legally do
if she wants. You are just as obsessively angry as your father was. And you say that your father forced wrestling
upon you? Well how is that any different from what you are doing to
Melinda right now?”
“What do you mean?”
Glory asks quizzically.
“Don’t you see it? He forced you to be a
wrestler. Now you’re forcing her to not be a wrestler. It’s the
same thing just in reverse.” He
chuckles. “You have become your father. You are Glenn Braddock.”
Glory Braddock feels that like a punch to the
gut. All this time she had been trying to be different from her father,
she had been trying not to be the kind of parent her father was; and yet it
seems as if Matthew is right. She turned out just like her father. Glory is stunned into silence. The British Bombshell is so stunned that she
doesn’t even notice him walk past her.
She is startled back to reality when he calls back to her.
“Think about that, Glory.” He
remarks. Glory turns around to face her long time friend. “Out of
respect for you and the friendship we have, I will stop training Melinda until
you give me the green light. But seriously, your daughter adores
you. She idolizes you.”
“Yeah, I know.” Glory says quietly. “That’s what I’m afraid of.”

On Camera
==========
The camera begins to roll and the lights are dim
but it is clear we are rolling inside of an empty gym; more specifically we are
directly in front of a wrestling ring set up in the middle of the concrete
floor. Licking is heard echoing throughout this room. It isn’t long until The British Bombshell
herself steps into view from stage right, wearing a royal purple velvet skirt
that stops just above the knee and a sleeveless white blouse. Her long
gorgeous blonde hair hangs unrestrained to shoulder length and she is standing
perched atop matching leather high heeled pumps. A confident grin is etched across her lovely
face as she gazes into the camera.
“Behind me is a wrestling ring.”
She chuckles lightly. “But then again, you’re not daft. You knew that
already. Thing is, to me that isn’t just
a wrestling ring. It’s home.”
The British Bombshell nods her head. “I was born
into this sport and I was raised within this sport. My father was one of
the best wrestlers in Europe. He was
known as Britain’s Best. But he didn’t call himself that, everyone else
called him that because he earned that moniker. He earned it every single
night he competed. He competed every
chance he could until he couldn’t do it any longer. Then he passed his
knowledge and skill to the next generation.”
“He passed the torch to me. Among the many
lessons he taught me was a respect for this sport and a respect for those who
bleed for it, a respect for those who bust their assess week in and week out
for this sport. And people wonder why I decided to use my Trios contract
to insert myself into the main event of Rise To Greatness?”
The British Bombshell narrows her brow. An
intensity unlike any other washes across her face.
“I am doing this for the love of this sport.
I am doing this because a handful of wishy washy egomaniacal twats have
absolutely no respect for this sport or for anyone in Supreme Championship Wrestling.
They said as much themselves when they said they would do anything to get to
the top and will do anything to stay on top.”
Braddock shakes her head. “Sorry, but that’s
just not how this works; not while I’m around. See, Syren can run around
claiming to be the best professional wrestler in the world all she wants but
she’s just fooling herself. It’s a lie and everyone will know it’s a lie
when I choke her ass out in front of the entire world on July 21st in Dallas, Texas.
“Oh but don’t me wrong. This isn’t just about
her and the SCW World Championship. This is a declaration of war against
the entire lot of those brassers and everything they stand for. And if
that means going through her lackeys first then so be it.”
A confident smirk spreads across the face of The
British Bombshell. “And that’s all you are in this whole thing,
Christy. I mean, sure, you are a former world champion and I suppose that
means I’m supposed to respect you but I can’t respect someone throws their
pride away to cast their lot in with them. And they may try to make it
sound like you’re an equal to them. It
sure sounded that way on Breakdown June 19th.
But make no mistake about who and what you are right now.”
“You are just a lackey. You are cannon
fodder. You’re a sidekick.”
“It’s sad to see a former world champion fall from
such a lofty status. From being great based upon your own accord and
merit to being relevant only because of your association with that two-bit twat
Syren. Instead of chasing your own continued career greatness you are now
doing the bidding of SCW’s resident tyrant.
Instead of being the absolute best you can be, the entire purpose of
your existence, right now at least, is to stop me.”
Braddock lets out a quiet laugh. “Your purpose
is to weaken me. You are tasked with softening me up in advance of Rise
To Greatness. As a matter of fact, not only do I not respect you but I
simply don’t care about you because you don’t care enough about yourself to be
anything more than their sidekick.”
“Unfortunately for you, your purpose in this match
will not be served.” Braddock shakes her head. “Your
purpose is to weaken me but yet again I’m going to flip the script. Just
like I did when I used my Trios, I am going to change the game. Instead of you softening me up, I’m going to
use you to send a message right back to your little pals.”
“I’m going to use the skills I was taught in that
very ring,” she motions to the wrestling ring
behind her “taught by a man who actually respects this sport unlike you lot,
to pick you apart, piece by piece. Bring whatever mind games, tricks, and
cheating you want, none of it will matter because in the end I will still
outwrestle you and you will be humbled. You will be brought to your
knees. This wrestling clinic will be the
first layer I tear away from this tyrannical reign.”
“Christy, I really do hope I said something that
got under your skin. I really do hope I lit a fire under your ass to
remind you who the hell you are but honestly, I think you are way too
pathetically gone to be helped. Breakdown is the day I fire the first
shot against you and your pals and you can end it yourself, Christy, by tapping
out.”
She glares intensely at the camera. “Or I will
end it by choking you out. Sic Semper Tyrannis, bitch!”
Glory Braddock turns and walks off screen.
Once she is out of view the scene starts to fade to black.
